This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. 1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT 1.1 Information you provide directly. When you register for services, request food assistance, volunteer, or donate, we may collect your name, contact details (address, phone, email), household information, demographic information, and any notes you choose to share with your food bank. 1.2 Information collected automatically. When you use the platform, we may collect basic technical information such as device type, browser, and general usage activity to keep the service secure and reliable. 2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION We use the information we collect to: - Provide food assistance and coordinate distributions; - Manage volunteer scheduling, training, and recognition; - Record and acknowledge donations; - Communicate with you by email, telephone, or transactional SMS messages regarding your food assistance, appointments, document signing, account verification, and other requested services; - Improve and safeguard the platform; and - Comply with legal, grant, and reporting obligations. 3. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the platform: - With the member food bank(s) that serve you; - With service providers who help us run the platform (for example, secure hosting and messaging), under confidentiality obligations; and - When required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our community. 3A. SMS Communications 3A.1 Transactional SMS Messages Food Bank City may send transactional SMS (text) messages on behalf of participating food banks to facilitate food assistance services. These messages may include secure links to complete required forms, appointment reminders, account notifications, verification requests, and other service-related communications. Food Bank City does not use this messaging program to send promotional or marketing messages. 3A.2 SMS Consent SMS messages are sent only after an individual voluntarily provides a mobile telephone number and consents to receive transactional text messages. Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of receiving food assistance or other services. 3A.3 Use of Mobile Information Mobile telephone numbers are used solely for providing requested transactional communications and for supporting services requested by the individual. 3A.4 No Sharing of SMS Consent Mobile information will not be shared, sold, rented, or transferred to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties except service providers who assist in delivering the requested messaging services on our behalf. 3A.5 Opting Out Recipients may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP, END, CANCEL, QUIT, or UNSUBSCRIBE.
